The decision to expand NATCO service to other major cities of the country


Gilgit: Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Abrar Ahmad Mirza has described the performance of NATCO as satisfactory and said that if the performance continues, this institution will be stable in the coming days. The provincial government will utilize all resources for the development of this national asset of Gilgit-Baltistan. The 129th Board of Directors meeting of Northern Areas Transport Corporation was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Abrar Ahmad Mirza. It was decided in the meeting that the professional skills of the additional employees in the organization will be transferred to other departments. After a detailed review, NATCO business plan was appreciated and it was decided that NATCO passenger service will be improved and its scope will be extended to other major cities of the country under wet lease. The repair and maintenance work of passenger vehicles will be completed with a transparent and professional strategy. In the meeting, after reviewing the performance of the petrol pump fueling stations of NATCO, it was decided to hand over four more oil tankers to the custody of NATCO. Income will be increased. The income of NATCO Cargo will be increased by increasing the carrying capacity of NATCO Cargo trucks. The meeting approved the immediate auction of 26 vehicles which have been standing for auction for many years. A report will be presented in the next meeting regarding the increase in functionality and efficiency of the NATCO workshop. The Board of Directors unanimously appreciated the performance of the present management team and expressed hope that the growth journey will continue further.
